  • Our English pathway program goes from Grade 4 through Grade 12, beginning with the development of effective reading, thinking, writing, listening, and speaking skills, and ending when students put the finishing touches on their college application tests and essays designed to impress admissions officers.

    The pathway includes courses that will emphasize the following areas that students should master in order to end up at the college of their choice:

    * Critical Reading and Literature

    * Fundamentals of Grammar and Writing

    * Public Speaking for oral presentations, fishbowl discussions, and competitive speech and debate

    * Test Prep – including AP English and History tests, plus the SAT, ACT, and SAT Subject tests

    * The College Application Personal Statement along with all supplemental college essays

  • We are currently offering the following classes:

    Public Forum debate - Junior Debate Class

    Mon 5:15 - 6:15 pm

    REGISTER NOW

    Public Forum debate has the most in common with policy debate structurally. The topic changes each month, and is set nationally. Although the topic areas in Public Forum are broadly similar to the topic areas in policy debate, the topics are somewhat narrower so that students can master them within a month. The format is similar to policy in that cases are written and the topics have more of a practical, policy making bent than the philosophical issues that tend to be discussed in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.

    The Junior Debate Class is for students who are in 4th and 5th Grade.

    Public Forum debate - Competitive Level

    Mon 6:30 - 8:00 pm
